Our Stones

Our Stones

Every Earthset bracelet starts with a stone. Not just any stone — one we've sourced with care, inspected by hand, and chosen for its beauty and authenticity.

We work with suppliers who can tell us where their stones come from. We ask questions about mining practices, treatment processes, and supply chains. We're not perfect — the gemstone industry is complex and transparency is an ongoing effort — but we're committed to doing better, not just saying we do.

What Ethically Sourced Means to Us

"Ethically sourced" is a phrase that gets used loosely in the crystal world. Here's what it means at Earthset:

We know our suppliers. We don't buy from anonymous bulk wholesalers. We work with a small number of suppliers we've built relationships with over time.

We ask about origins. For each stone, we ask: Where was this mined? How was it processed? Is it treated or natural? We share what we know in our product descriptions.

We use genuine stones. Every bead in an Earthset bracelet is real, natural stone. We never sell synthetic, glass, or plastic as gemstone. If a stone has been heat-treated or stabilized, we disclose it.

We're honest about what we don't know. The gemstone supply chain is long and not always transparent. We can't guarantee that every stone was mined under perfect conditions. What we can guarantee is that we choose our suppliers carefully, ask the hard questions, and are committed to improving our practices over time.

Hand-Inspected, Every Bead

Sara inspects every stone bead before it goes on a bracelet. She's looking for:

  • Authenticity — Is this genuine stone, or an imitation?
  • Quality — Is the color rich? Is the surface smooth? Are there cracks that would compromise durability?
  • Character — Natural variations in color, opacity, and pattern are what make each bracelet unique. These aren't rejected — they're celebrated.

Not every bead makes the cut. The ones that do become your bracelet.

Always Improving

We're a small business, and we're learning as we grow. Our sourcing practices will evolve. If you have questions about where a specific stone comes from, email us at hello@earthset.co — we'll tell you what we know.

Disclaimer: Stone origins listed are based on information from our suppliers. The gemstone supply chain involves multiple intermediaries, and tracing a stone's journey from mine to bead is not always possible with certainty. We share what we can verify.
